I am currently a Renfrew Fellow at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research at the University of Cambridge. I also serve as a Research Fellow at Fitzwilliam College.  Previously, I served as a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Society and Genetics at UCLA. Prior to this position, I was a graduate student at the University of Washington receiving my PhD in June 2014 under the advisement of Ben Fitzhugh with Jim Feathers, Ben Marwick and Peter Jordan as committee members. I received two master's degrees in Field and Analytical Techniques in Archaeology as well as Theoretical Archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London.  My bachelors degree in Archaeological Studies was granted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

In my personal life, I enjoy participating in numerous outdoor activities (hiking, camping, skiing) as well as traveling and eating/cooking good food with my wife. I also am a passionate sports fan dedicating many a Sunday in the autumn to watch my Minnesota Vikings as well as spending additional hours throughout the year following the Seattle Mariners, Philadelphia Flyers, Wisconsin Badgers and Arsenal FC. I am also a member of Sons of Norway (Leif Erikson Lodge) and enjoy helping to promote and preserve traditional Norwegian food and culture.
