As an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, my research focused on the production of iron during the medieval period in northwestern England.  In collaboration with Carl Blair and the Smelt archaeological project, I completed my senior thesis that explored the labor requirements necessary for producing the amount and quality of iron found at the Low Birker Site in the Eskdale Valley, Cumbria, England.  During my time as a student at UW-L, I also worked on various projects at the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center and the Programme for Belize Archaeological Project.
